Point cloud editing and terrain analysis
CloudCanvas v1.1.3 ยท Core and professional modules. CloudCanvas Core. Required base package. Bring your survey data into one place. Clean up point clouds, shape terrain surfaces and create the maps, measurements and reports you need.
Point-cloud preparation
Clean up your point cloud and keep the points you need with selection, filtering and density controls.
Surface editing
Build and refine your terrain with tools for smoothing, shaping, clipping and simplifying surfaces.
Contours and profiles
Make the terrain easier to read with contours, profiles and cross-sections.
Comparison and volumes
See what has changed between surveys and turn surface comparisons into maps and volume reports.
Shape and smooth your surface
Raise, lower or smooth your terrain with the brush tools while contours update live as you edit. Choose a brush to raise, lower or smooth the terrain. Brush directly over the surface, with contours updating live as you edit. Review the shape from different angles and refine the surface as needed.
Example output
Identify elevated points. Elevated points highlighted with Vertical Filter, ready for selection.
Inspect the retained points
Selected elevated points have been removed.
Inputs
LAS/LAZ point clouds and XYZ, CSV or TXT point data; Terrain surfaces, boundaries and reference geometry
Outputs
Prepared point clouds and edited meshes; Contours, profiles and cross-sections; Comparison maps, volume results and reports
Review notes
Manual smoothing and shape editing change model geometry. Edited surfaces must be reviewed against the survey observations. Filters and volume calculations depend on the source coverage, coordinate reference system and operator settings.
