CloudCanvas

3D drillhole views and geology surfaces

CloudCanvas v1.1.3 ยท Core and professional modules. Geology. Optional module. Requires CloudCanvas Core. Turn drillhole records into a 3D view of your geology. Explore logged intervals, build seam surfaces and see how the layers fit together.

Drillhole Data Preparation

Organise your collar and interval records so they are ready for modelling.

Drillhole Geology

See logged intervals in 3D and explore how they relate across your drillholes.

Layer modelling

Build top, bottom and thickness surfaces, with shaded and wireframe views to help you explore them.

Bring your geology into view

Follow the workflow from drillhole intervals to shaded seam surfaces, then explore the layers in 3D. View logged drillhole intervals as coloured tubes. Choose a seam and generate its surfaces. Rotate the layers to explore them alongside the drillholes.

Example output

Shaded layers with drillhole context. Seam surfaces and drillholes, displayed together in 3D.

Layers in section

A wireframe view of the layers alongside the drillholes.

Inputs

Collar coordinates and logged intervals; Reviewed data declarations and modelling settings

Outputs

3D drillhole interval views; Top, bottom and thickness surfaces; Geology layers retained in the desktop project

Review notes

The demonstrated workflow uses vertical drillholes. Check your input data and modelling settings before generating surfaces. Interpret modelled geology alongside the supporting drillhole records. In the shaded example, the thickness legend belongs to a hidden layer rather than the visible seam surfaces.
